How to Attract More Love
3 STEPS TO ATTRACT MORE LOVE
So a little disclaimer: the first 2 parts of this 3-part guide require an emotional shift and are a bit woo-woo and the final part is a physical shift and still sort of woo woo. But when we are talking about LOVE, which is a very intangible thing but yet a very real part of our beings, I think you have to put your faith in something you can’t quite see. So, if that earns this guide a seat on the woo woo train, then all aboard! I’m here for the journey and I know you are, too.
Step 1: OPEN YOUR HEART
The irony of all ironies is when our hearts are broken wide open, we feel the most closed off. We tend to shut down, scared of being hurt again. But if your heart was a room and it’s locked up tight, how do you expect love to get in? It may come knocking if you’re really lucky, but it’s usually going to choose the door that is open and inviting it to step inside.
So the next time your heart is closed off or locked shut, imagine that you are pouring love out of it and offering it to everyone you come in contact with. Give love like your life depends on it. Give love to neighbors and strangers. Give more love to your mom or a sibling or a friend. Just give it away!
Is it risky to open your heart? Heck yeah! But is it riskier to keep it closed and live a life of regret? HECK FRICKIN YES.
TRY THIS VISUAL MEDITATION:
Place both hands on your heart and imagine you are breathing in and out through your heart.
Breathe slowly and gently until your breathing feels smooth and balanced, not forced. Try breathing in to a count of 5-4-3-2-1 and breathing out to a count of 5-4-3-2-1.
With each inhale, draw in a feeling of inner-ease and self-love and imagine your heart filling up with love. With each exhale, send your love out into the world.
Start by sending your love to yourself. Once you have that down, start sending the love to your neighbor. As your breath gets stronger, you can start sending your love even farther away, to the person down the street, a woman 5 miles away, a man in a country across the world.
Step 2. ASK YOURSELF DAILY: HOW CAN I BRING MORE LOVE INTO THE WORLD?
Have you ever heard of the law of attraction? If you want more love, give more love. If you want more joy, give more joy. It’s really that simple. By giving more love, you’re raising your vibrations, and you’ll start to attract love. Whether its science or the law of attraction or the secret or whatever you want to call it, it's real, because I've experienced it time and time again.
When you become a walking, talking vision of love you will become irresistible to other people who will be drawn to you by your presence. Start small: hold the door open for a stranger. Compliment your barista. Tell someone they are a joy to be around. It may be easy to start with physical compliments, but eventually, try to move past superficial compliments to something that truly shows you SEE them, and you appreciate them. And I'm not saying it will be easy but inviting and receiving more love into your life is a jackpot of a reward, and it’s waiting for you.
Step 3: PREPARE YOUR ENVIRONMENT. Clean out a drawer in anticipation of your new love needing a place to stash some things. Make room in your closet. Tidy up your living room so that it’s ready to impress a guest. Get rid of anything that reminds you of an ex. Get rid of anything from an ex. Seriously, you don’t need it. Declutter. Make space.
Prepare your heart space environment, too. You unlocked the door, bravo. But does the room need a little sweeping? Are you holding on to toxic relationships that you know aren’t serving you? Sweep them out the door. Maybe grab a little polish and a rag and make the floor shine. (This pun has gone on for far too long but just in case it’s not clear, I mean work on YOU.) Work on your mental health, work on healing your heart, work on loving yourself more. Release past love by forgiving yourself and others and using it as an experience to grow from, not to regret.
GROWTH > REGRET
OPEN > CLOSED
LOVE > NO LOVE
TRYING > QUITTING
Sending you all my love,
